Driven by its mission to advance global access to low-carbon, dispatchable energy, Mainspring has developed a new category of power generation — the linear generator — that delivers onsite, fuel-flexible power at lower cost and lower carbon than the electric grid.

I organized a new Israeli Dance session, which I called Nirkoda! I host a monthly Israeli dance party, with approximately 45 participants, as well as larger workshops and, starting in 2017, a weekend camp.

As a volunteer District Director, I am one of national officers for Tau Beta Pi: The Engineering Honor Society. I support 13 collegiate and 2 alumni chapters in Northern California and Northern Nevada. Along with two co-directors, I develop and teach modules to train chapter officers about best practices. For example, at the Spring 2015 District 15 Conference, I debuted a new officer transition module. In a guide Socratic style, I helped officers identify both skills and knowledge that would be helpful to their successors, and together, we established a plan for ensuring those skills and that knowledge would not be lost in transition.I also serve as liaison between nationals and the local chapters, bringing critical issues to the attention of the Executive Council and communicating association-wide goals to chapters.

I design next-generation displays for the iPhone (11 Pro Max), developing cutting-edge display technologies, processes, components, and modules. I act as a focal point among multiple design and production teams to deliver mechanically robust displays from initial concept to mass production. Job responsibilities:* Drive the display shape based on optical, electrical, assembly process, and space constraints* Create and refine technologies to improve the design, construction, and reliability of displays.* Provide 3D and 2D documentation for display assemblies and components.* Define mechanical and performance requirements for fit, quality, and reliability. Make sure the requirements are met across all suppliers.* Audit factories to review assembly process, integration, and handling of displays and components at all stages to maintain quality and achieve high assembly yield.* Perform failure analysis and create detailed reports to drive solid corrective actions.* Communicate data and changes to product design, reliability, and senior management groups.* Identify open mechanical design issues and drive them to closure in a timely fashion.* Deliver the necessary design documents and data for engineering builds and initial ramp.* Address issues from initial ramp and field returns.

Analyzed competitors' products. Characterized performance, enabling technology, and cost of production. Reverse engineered competitors' products to understand alternative solutions to industry-wide problems.Collaborated with senior engineers to identify customer key parameters and measure the competitive landscape according to those parameters. Identified potential and actual gaps in product performance. Drove change by directing resources and effort in order to surpass the competition.Specialized in the enablers for mechanical subsystems, including: acoustics, audio vibration, operational vibration, emitted vibration, form factor and mechanical features, grease wear leveling, thermal performance, shock (operational, non-operational, rotational), servo-mechanical performance (seek/settle behavior in particular), suspension design, TMR (track mis-registration).Designed and implemented new test procedures for determining track density (TPI), servo positioning algorithm, flyability margin, tolerance stack-up geometrical limitations on actuator positioning.

Connected members of Tau Beta Pi Engineering Honor Society living in the Bay Area (San Francisco, Silicon Valley, Berkeley, Oakland, etc.). Organized social and professional events. Wrote new bylaws and relaunched the chapter after a two year hiatus.

Guide discussion sections for freshman physics class. Organize laboratory section. Grade exams fairly and impartially. Help students to grasp the material.

Taught classes between 10 and 60 students new dances every week. Created a coherent curriculum designed to maximize students' exposure to the broadest range of the Israeli dance spectrum. Designed a 2-unit curriculum, including a book, essay, and field trip, to enhance student engagement with the material. Managed all administrative aspects of the class.

Initiated a mechanism for student-faculty interaction, with the goal of fostering research collaboration opportunities for Tau Bates and top researchers. Studied tax classification options and began the process of becoming a 501(c)(3) incorporated entity. Improved services provided to the engineering community by implementing Helpdesk, a general question-and-answer service for UC Berkeley engineers.

Photometry: Designed and built sensor network from individual electronic components to measure light and energy, developed mathematical framework for analyzing measurements, helped with optimization of light fixtures.Agency certification: Collaborated with engineers from Underwriters Laboratory to verify safety of Finelite’s PLS (Personal Lighting System) and obtain UL certification.Product development: Designed, built, tested prototypes; created clear, informative documentation for end user

Organized bunk activities, helped campers make the adjustment to being away from home, guaranteed camper safety. Planned dramatic learning activities that emphasized camp and Jewish values (e.g., performance of "Skid Row"​ from "Little Shop of Horrors," to discuss the Jewish response to poverty). Planned Judaic divisional activities centered around the Jewish life cycle, from the birth of a child to the rituals of death. Served as a member of Lead Staff, liaison between the Camp Director and counseling staff.
