I have been teacher/coach since 2001 and a school administrator since 2009. I was employed in the Fort Dodge Community School District from 2001-2009 as a 7/8 grade Middle School Science teacher at Phillips Middle School. In 2009, I was hired as the PK-8 Principal in the Pomeroy-Palmer Community School District where I served for 3 years. I worked in the Pocahontas Area Community District starting in 2012 serving as the PK-6 Principal. In July (2019) I started as the Fort Dodge Middle School Principal in the Fort Dodge Community School District serving approximately 1,200 5-8 grade students and 125 staff members. In July (2023) I moved into the Executive Director of Educational Services position within the Fort Dodge Community School District.I earned by B.A. in Elementary Education with a double minor in K-8 Health and K-12 Coaching from the University of Northern Iowa in 2000. I earned my M.A. in Education from Viterbo University in 2007 and my Administrative Degree from the Iowa Principal Leadership Academy in 2009. In May of 2025, I will have my Specialist in Education (Superintendent) degree from Drake University.I have coached as a Head and Assistant Coach at the middle and high school levels since 1999. I was the Head Varsity Baseball Coach at St. Edmond High School (Fort Dodge, IA) from 2002-2007. I was the Head Varsity Baseball Coach at Pocahontas Area High School (Pocahontas, IA) from 2014-2019. I have experience coaching baseball, football, basketball, and cross-country.I strive to be the best version of myself I can possibly be!
