Aaron Duke is an Associate Vice President and the Seattle Operations Manager for Hazen and Sawyer, an engineering, design, and consulting firm that’s been in business 70+ years and has 50+ offices nationwide. A professional engineer registered in seven states and a Board-Certified Environmental Engineer, Aaron has 23 years’ experience in the water industry and has worked on 35 different plants in more than a dozen states with close to 1.5 BGD of capacity. He has also led or served as technical advisor on more than 22 recent residuals handling and disposal projects. With more than two decades experience in the Chesapeake Bay region working up and down the Potomac River and with various ground water supplies, Aaron has a wide range of experience in water supply, treatment and residuals, planning studies, design, digital innovations and more. He brings a strong focus on operations to every project – leveraging existing assets, utilizing innovative technologies to unlock capacities in existing systems and crafting designs and master plans tailored to a client’s needs. He’s also experienced at devising and implementing solutions for the wide range of issues currently facing the water industry including new regulations, supply and demand changes, budget, climate issues and more. A strategic and detail-oriented thinker, Aaron is a knowledgeable, personable, and relationship-focused leader who fosters collaboration, prioritizes listening and excels at being flexible and staying nimble to adapt quickly to changing circumstances. He received his bachelor and master’s degrees in Environmental Engineering from the University of Michigan. He and his wife have two children – one in college and one on the doorstep. In their free time, they love to hike, kayak, cheer on the Wolverines in football (Go Blue!) and spend time with their beloved dog Moose.
