Hi there. I’m Aaron, a Physics PhD student working on the ATLAS experiment at Duke University. I’ve worked previously on the ATLAS ITk detector upgrade at BNL, and will soon be starting work on data acquisition readout/analysis for the ITk and physics analysis. Currently in courses, my formal, classroom education in physics is approaching the masters level, providing a strong foundation in mathematics, scientific background, and perseverance. My experience at BNL had also reenforced and strengthened my programming skills and hardware experience to a level that prepared me from graduate research. Now in graduate school, I’m excited for the upcoming research opportunities made available to me. Giving some background, I initially started my career in particle physics theory but pivoted after my undergrad when realizing where my passions truly lied. My formal education has covered Mechanics, Thermodynamics, Mathematics, Electricity and Magnetism, Quantum Mechanics, General Relativity, Fluid Dynamics, and Particle Physics. I’m able to use this background towards propelling and assisting my research. Outside of my work, I’m a intermediate outdoorsman who enjoys his fair share of hiking and camping, with plans to go backpacking in the near future. In years past I have enjoyed my volunteer work with the National Parks Service and make it a point to enjoy nature given the opportunity.
