I was a Mathematics SI leader for S.T.E.P(Summer Transition to ECST Program) for California State University, Los Angeles' College of Engineering, Computer Science and Technology(ECST). This was a summer job where I worked with other SI leaders in small workshops to tutor incoming college freshman in rigorous math problems whom were majoring in Engineering, Computer Science or Technology. I also motivated students to socialize, share knowledge and attack problems with their peers. Another important characteristic of this job was being a 'role model' to these students. I enjoyed giving advice on how to 'tackle the life' of an engineering student; this included giving advice on studying habits, what courses to focus on and to engage in their community.
