• Control the refinery processes within safe operating limits and ensure that the units are continuously optimised as per production plan requirements.• Initiate Emergency Procedures, including ESD’s and Safe Park’s, to safely shutdown units as and when required.• Direct the activities of outside operations technicians to facilitate safe and effective plant operation• Identify and communicate system faults/alarms to appropriate personnel.• Initiate and co-ordinate response to major process upsets in consultation with the STL and SOTL.• Frequently monitor all process control loops.• Anticipate changes to unit conditions by accurate interpretation of trending and history data.• Inform other areas of possible impacts of changes to processes.• Participates in the continuous improvement of Process control philosophies in order to maximise returns and minimise loss.• Ensures all changes to control systems are communicated to the other Control Technicians on their Panel and shift.

• Review and modify TAR shutdown and start-up procedures, specific to each unit for each particular TAR, to be written in conjunction with unit Process Engineer, Area Authority and Environmental section to ensure all relevant engineering and environmental constraints are met.• Develop procedures for equipment chemical cleaning, catalyst changes and furnace decoke.• Participate in scope and HAZOP reviews prior to scope freeze.• Develop Isolation plans and blanks lists required for the planned scope• Create the templates and facilitate the confined space risk assessment (CSRA) meeting for all task within TAR scope that require entry into or work within a confined space. Create the CSE certificates for all confined spaces reflecting the controls determined in the CSRA.• Create and get approval for all JRAs required for high-risk work planned during the TAR event.• Create all COW permits required to complete all jobs in the TAR scope.• Compile Ops work packs for all jobs• Lead the safe unit shutdown and oil out of process units, ensure all positive isolations are in place and all hazardous energy sources isolated to declare brownfields on TAR units.• Responsible for all execution activities, compliance with CoW Requirements and permitting of work, sign up and gas testing for CSE and liaising with maintenance on required equipment preparations.• Ensure all job and pre-commissioning activities are complete and signed off before commencing unit start-up.• Lead the safe unit start-up and return to processing on-spec product• Complete lessons learned and participate in external post TAR review, archive all TAR documentation.

• Carry out breakdown, corrective and preventative maintenance work across refinery Instrumentand electrical systems to the required standards.• Inspection and repairs of electrical equipment in hazardous areas.• On and offline testing of Safety Instrument Systems.• Safely Isolate Low and High Voltage equipment and plant as per PTW requirements.• Comply with Computerised Maintenance Management System (CMMS) processes for workexecution and capture relevant data for entry into the CMMS data base.• Efficient and effective scoping of emergent corrective work to simplify the planning process• Strictly adhere to all relevant regulations and legislation• Maintain high levels of housekeeping of plant, equipment, stores, and tools• Take on different responsibilities and roles within skills, knowledge, and abilities.• Actively support various continuous improvement initiatives, project design / construction reviews.

Key Responsibilities:• Maintenance, testing calibration and commissioning of Refinery CEMs (Continuous EmissionsAnalysers) and online Process analysers (Gas Chromatography).• Site acceptance testing (SAT) and commissioning of new 95% Distillation analyser.• Site acceptance texting (SAT) and commissioning of H2S/SO2 Tail gas analyser.

Key Responsibilities:• Planning and coordinating breakdown, corrective and preventative maintenance workorders for IE maintenance crew on process units.• Use Computerised Maintenance Management System (CMMS) – MAXIMO.• Create workorders, job plans, update work order history, record, monitor and report crew completions data.• Order/stock parts.• Liaise with Operations and Process support engineers.• Engage cooperatively with vendors and service providers• Support supervisors by providing detailed weekly plans and technical advice.• Continue to fulfil role as on call IE technician and hands on help to crews during emergencybreakdowns and plant shutdowns.
