As a recent graduate with a BSc in Sport, Exercise and Health Sciences from the University of Birmingham, I am currently working for the University of Warwick as a Sport Engagement Officer. This role provides a unique perspective on the university lifecycle, having done so previously as an alumnus and now a member of staff, building on my prior experiences in sporting disciplines with WV Active (sport and leisure), the Commonwealth Games sustainability team (sport and sustainability) and Diamonds Academy (sports coaching and management).Throughout my education and work experience opportunities, I have developed a strong skill set, including excellent organisation, prioritisation, and time management. Working in both team and autonomous environments has allowed these foundational skills to flourish whilst providing a setting to enhance my capabilities with Microsoft Office suite, creative tools (e.g., Canva/Visme), and advanced statistical software (e.g., Jamovi), to name a few.I chose to study Sport, Exercise, and Health Sciences due to my profound passion for sports, coupled with a keen interest in understanding the science behind exercise, and health, and how optimisation of the two can result in enhanced physical performance and improved mental well-being. This period of academia has fostered an interest in pursuing a career in fields such as sport development, sport and mental health, sport nutrition and strength and conditioning.
