I study the origins of mutagenesis and DNA damage in cancer, in particular pediatric cancers. My lab is in the Center for Genome Integrity at the Wash U School of Medicine in St. Louis, and we are excited about mutational signatures, APOBEC deaminases, genome editing, tumor evolution, and DNA repair mechanisms. My clinical training is in both pediatric oncology and infectious diseases, and I now practice at the intersection of those fields in the Immunocompromised Infectious Diseases program at St. Louis Children's Hospital.
