Abby Powers is a Student Engagement and Communications Specialist at Berkshire Community College. She possess expertise in event planning, program management, training, community outreach, program development and 13 more skills. Colleagues describe her as "I spent a little over two years working alongside Abby at the College Internship Program and as soon as I heard she would be departing our organization I absolutely knew we would take a hit. Working with Abby made my work a lot easier. It was easy because Abby is very thorough and detailed and that attention to detail eliminates a lot of problems before they have an opportunity to arise. If you give Abby an assignment not only does she do the work she is assigned, but she ensures that it is beautifully documented and easy to comprehend by anyone who picks the work up. All the experiences I had working in conjunction with Abby during the Summer were a breeze because she made sure everything was spelled out perfectly for us and she made sure she was accessible at any time, in the event we needed additional support. Damien Danielly MBA" and "I was hired as the Director of Admissions at the College Internship Program (CIP), based in Lee, Massachusetts, in May of 2012. CIP's full-year postsecondary programs provide young adults with Asperger's, High-Functioning Autism, ADHD, Nonverbal and other Learning Differences with the social, academic, career and life skills necessary for success. During her time here, Abby has demonstrated a strong work ethic and a dedication to success. As the Summer Program Coordinator, she coordinates six summer programs each on a different college campus. Our programs were held in California, Florida, Indiana, Massachusetts, and New York. She reviews all applications and supplemental material, negotiates contracts including housing, dining, computer labs, athletics centers, meeting space and classroom space with colleges and is responsible for developing a staffing schedule and staff training. Recently I have worked with Abby on the creation of new post program evaluations. This follow up was a major undertaking, requiring a great deal of thought and effort on Abby’s behalf. Abby serves CIP as a national leader and I have seen many of her co-workers seek her advice and support. Abby is always there for them and is quite comfortable in the role."
