Software Engineer
CurrentAs a part of a leading company specializing in the digital transformation of oil and gas power plants in Egypt, my responsibility as part of the team was to develop the back-end and front-end of an electronic document management system specialized in document archiving and management using the famous Unity game engine running on .NET framework and C# as the back-end scripting as well as the 3D simulation of Nasr Petroleum Company power plant. As a result of the project, newly added members can explore the plant as a 3D model for training and education purposes, move around the plant and investigate all the pipelines, equipment, and valves, access their documents, or read its datasheet throughout the interactive 3D model. The project mainly facilitates the handling of Plant documentation by linking all plant equipment to documents, and by creating detailed reports for current and old revisions of documents.Carrying out the company’s vision in the sector of oil and gas as a partner for AspenTech in the Middle East, our job was to integrate AspenTech scheduling software alongside multiple SOA-enabled or other legacy systems across 7 refineries in one integrated enterprise-based environment securing seamless data exchange between all systems. My role involved meeting with the client and gathering all the required information, studying high-level functional and non-functional requirements related to performance, security, and reliability as well as building the software architecture diagrams, delivering the design document, selecting a technology stack, and deployment methods, and estimating development time.
