Coming from a small steel township like Rourkela, Orissa has its own advantages which I was lucky to imbibe. The cosmopolitan nature of the township helped me to understand & appreciate the cultural diversity of our nation. Schooling at a missionary school with equal focus on education, sports & CSR, taught me life lessons in discipline, diligence and teamwork which have been the cornerstones of my character & personality. XISS, Ranchi helped me appreciate the value of money & strong family and friends. It also helped me gather insights thru corporate engagements in internships & experiences during research & social outreach projects. Good mentors coached & guided me in my formative years. With 27+ Yrs of experience, my first opening at Electrosteel Castings , I worked with the senior management team & consultants projects like TQM, TPM,TOC which helped gain immense insight into the way businesses operate and the What, When, Who & How to not only manage operational situations but also to initiate & execute developmental changes. At PepsiCo, armed with strong policies and SOP guidelines, I learnt to manage the entire personnel function of an operational plant almost single handedly. Here I also learnt to manage external stakeholders and build bridges with important sections of the society in which an organization operates. These helped me manage and handle complex situations which I faced at Dabur’s largest branch warehouse at Patna. At Dabur I was exposed to managing the Sales function for an entire region. Dabur helped me learn to manage multiple direct & dotted line reportings. At Eureka Forbes i learnt managing large teams & got exposed to concept of Assessment Centres & manage development centres in an organization.At Apeejay, I was able to effectively create online platforms for PMS ,Workflow systems, Realtime Intranet as well as create a platform for employee engagement & people development. It also helped in my learning of the varied businesses like Tea, Shipping, Real Estate & Retail.At Eveready the challenge was to manage the HR function as well as my eminent predecessors. A stable HR team at Eveready has supported the business growth by helping creating and managing 4 diverse businesses. Last couple of turbulent years for the company, teamHR has effectively supported the restructuring process of the businesses with negligible turbulence. I am involved with the National HRD Network and Charitable Organisations and like to spend a part of my professional time in my efforts to give back to my profession as well as to society.
