In this project, I compiled a database of 2-D aerodynamic analysis for a number of airfoils for rotorcraft and tiltrotor blades. I used MIT’s XFOIL code to calculate various coefficients of lift and coefficients of drag for any given combination of airfoil geometry and state conditions. To streamline this process and improve efficiency, I utilized Matlab to execute the XFOIL program and successfully create an Excel database of airfoil analysis. This project supported the development of Anduril’s in-house aerodynamic design and analysis tools. I also researched helicopter aerodynamics, airfoil design, and various tiltrotor aircraft.
