About Abigail King

Abby’s work focuses on helping to achieve permanent conservation of resilient and connected forests inMaine. She manages many aspects of conservation acquisitions, including real estate transactions, grantapplications, contracts, and work with partners.In addition to land acquisition, Abby also has a background in public policy, community outreach,outdoor education, and land use planning. Prior to joining The Nature Conservancy in Maine, sheworked as the Conservation Director for the Upper Saco Valley Land Trust in the White Mountain andWestern Maine region.Outside of work, Abby loves finding new places in Maine to go hiking, skiing, biking, canoeing, andkayaking. She is a Registered Maine Guide and a member of the Board of Directors of the Mountain Division Alliance. Abby studied Environmental Geography at Colgate University and received a master’s degree in public policy from the Harris School at the University of Chicago. She lives in Gorham, Maine with her husband and daughter.
