I am a male Zambian citizen aged 37 years with a full grade twelve certificate, Certificate in fisheries science, Certificate in information and communication technology, Bachelor of Science in Natural Resources Management, a Master's degree in Public Policy and Governance, and currently pursuing a Ph.D. in Peace Leadership and governance with a focus on Natural Resources Self Governance model Besides my qualifications mentioned above, I was motivated to apply for this position because of my rich reserve of experience which now stretches 10years of working with fishing communities both as a field officer and professional staff. I worked with the fishing community as a fisheries assistant for 9 years from which I cultivated not only the experience but much more an understanding of the fabric and composition of fishing communities. I have been directly involved in the knowledge transfer of new technologies in fishing and post-harvest loss reduction strategies in both fresh and dry fish. During my fieldwork, I was also responsible for the promotion of aquaculture in Shibuyunji district which was heavily dependent on fishing from the Kafue fishery. I managed to link fish farmers to feed and fish seed suppliers and facilitated the signing of an out-grower scheme to help fish farmers access inputs at a more subsided price with a stable and secured market. My research interests revolve around Sustainable livelihoods, Local Governance, Climate change, Sustainable rural development, and Gender and Climate Change dynamics.
