The duties are working directly with clients on a daily basis, contacting the United States Citizenship and Immigration Services (USCIS) regarding updates and client issues, work with strict immigration timelines and communicate with authorities and the client consistently via email, telephone and in person.Previous Role: Education SpecialistAs the Education Specialist, tasks include managing adult education courses such as U.S. Citizenship courses in Spanish and English, and English as a Second Language in different locations across the Rio Grande Valley region. Created and sustained a partnerships with various non-profits, community colleges/universities and businesses. LUPE's education program focused on creating programs that served and benefits first-generation, immigrant students to obtain knowledge on college-readiness and connection. Previous Role: Civic Engagement Coordinator:Coordinated region wide efforts for La Unión del Pueblo Entero to encourage voters to turn out in various elections. Efforts included multiple voting precincts in Hidalgo and Cameron County in south Texas to outreach thousands of eligible voters, lead groups of election canvassers, coordinate voter turnout events, create and plan voter educational sessions, and Ven-con-Diez efforts that brought inter-personal voter lists to above 70% voting turnout.
