I co-founded and now run a start-up organization - Outdoor Alliance - that has a totally new approach to conservation. Through policy education, communication, data and organizing, we help Americans convert their love of the outdoors into civic and political power to protect the outdoors. As CEO, I lead at multiple scales, from my amazing staff of nine professionals to the ten national organizations that now make up Outdoor Alliance. Although I routinely represent the human powered community before national policy makers and influencers, I am most proud of helping the human powered community find its own voice before this audience, and systematically build its stature and growing influence. I also help leading brands in the outdoor industry think about their approach conservation policy and civic engagement.Before Outdoor Alliance, I practiced environmental law. A pro bono project to help protect one of my favorite rivers was the fork in the road that ultimately led to Outdoor Alliance.
