My research focus within the group is on using single-walled carbon nanotubes (SWNT) in these devices as either back contacts, transparent front contacts, or active layers. My role on these projects ranges from project manager to active researcher. Whichever role I fill, I am responsible for experimental design, data analysis and interpretation, and presenting the information to clients and the group leader.As a senior member of the group, I am given freedom to pursue other research interests. As a result I have established a collaboration with faculty members in different departments investigating SWNT transistors. I have worked with these faculty members to develop research strategies, methods, and increased functionality of the labs. I am also exploring the possibility of addition collaborations outside the university.My responsibilities beyond research are to ensure that the equipment runs properly and the students can flourish. Depending upon the graduate student and project, my role with them varies from mentor to teacher to research director. I have also hired and now direct a number of undergraduate students to support the research and have established two outreach programs for high school students. Furthermore, I work with the business portion of the research center by providing quotes, documentation of practices and policy, and written information about the research and students as required. Investigated hydrogen storage materials and D2 exchange reactions to gain insights into the structure of the complex and approximate energies required for H2 desorption.

My research included the hydrogen storage properties of nanomaterials, the characterization of nanomaterials, and the thermal properties of thin films. All of the material was deposited using PVD methods.
