Joined GB Bank when it was a start up, prior to us applying for a UK Banking Licence, taking the Bank through mobilisation and into live trading. While achieving this goal, I helped ensure all capital and liquidity requirements were met, while being fundamental in building the Bank, specifically supporting strategic planning and operational build.The first member of the finance and treasury team, and my role has included both financial control and FP&A, building out the finance team, it's processes and controls while working with the wider organisation to manage and forecast business performance.A key figure in the preparation of strategic documents including ICAAP, ILAAP, Recovery Plan and SWDP while also supporting fundraising efforts including vendor due diligence

Joined Deloitte on the graduate program, gaining several promotions culminating in promotion to Manager. During this time I managed engagements in a number of business sectors within financial services, manufacturing and entrepreneurial business. Significant roles included the following:• Lead audit manager of two top 5 Building Societies, including the challenge of controls and IFRS3 fair value adjustments following the high profile acquisitions of two distressed Building Societies.• Group manager of the audit of an international general insurance and warranty administration services Group.• Internal audit manager at UK Asset Resolution.• Member of the internal professional standards review team, performing quality control reviews on both IFRS and UK GAAP financial statements, internal audit reports, audit committee reports and other opinions issued by Deloitte.• Supported a number of corporate finance transactions, including an initial public offering, merger due diligence and a bond issues.• Reviewed the group consolidation which included significant South African diamond miners.• Performed a Sarbanes-Oxley review of financial controls at a high profile investment bank in the City.• Super User for the implementation of new risk based audit software.

Responsibilities included the following:• Undertaking technical VAT and other indirect tax research using legislation and supplemented with internet sources to facilitate the provision of advice to clients, including liaising with HM Revenue and Customs regarding appeals to the VAT and Duties Tribunal.• Completion of VAT returns, Intrastat returns, EC Sales lists.
