During my time I looked after the NZ LCI project to facilitate the development of a New Zealand based LCI database. In November 2002 I entered the student scholarship programme at ION NZ ltd (then known as Argent Metals Technology.) ION NZ was a factory based in Wiri, Auckland, that made cast aluminium alloy wheels for FORD America. During my time at ION I was heavily involved in the research and development programme, having taken on many projects to help keep the company on the forefront of technology. Some of these projects were done in conjunction with the University of Auckland in line with my degree requirements, (4th year BE project was an example of this.) I have worked as a project leader, as a member of a R&D team and individually on a multitude of projects, mostly all revolving around the casting process used at ION and the metallurgy of the Aluminium alloy used, (A356 Al-Si-Mg.)Team and leadership skills were a must for this job, and I have learned these as well as honed my technical skills during my years at ION.
