About Adam Marin

With over 25 years of work experience in the healthcare industry and over 15 years of that involving Robotic Process Automation (RPA), I am a passionate and innovative Lead Automation Engineer. I have a strong background in computer science, and I enjoy applying my skills and knowledge to create solutions that improve efficiency, quality, and customer satisfaction. I value collaboration, learning, and diversity, and I strive to empower and support my team and other stakeholders with the best tools and practices for automation.I have experience setting up RPA programs and designing the architecture to make them successful. Through my project delivery, I have helped process, on average, half a million records a day and save, on average, 54 million dollars a year. I have streamlined processes to prepare them for automation and implemented that automation to help disparate departments and processes combine using SQL servers, Access databases, or CSV files to share and sync data.

  • Humana
    Lead Automation Engineer
    Humana May 2021 - Jun 2024
    Louisville, Kentucky, Us
I was the Lead Automation Engineer in charge of building and developing our Citizen Developer programutilizing the Automation Anywhere Automation 360 platform. My responsibilities included training teamson the use of the platform. Developing guidelines and best practices for utilizing the platform andtroubleshooting issues users are having with the platform. Other responsibilities included testing the newupdates to Automation Anywhere and performing administrative functions inside the platform. I alsohave experience building end-to-end solutions within Automation Anywhere. I was also responsible forplanning the roadmap and testing tools we may want to utilize for automation. I lead my team in migrating over 100 bots from Automation Anywhere v11 to A360. This impacted 100s of users and was done with no interruption to end users of the bots migrated. I created a roadmap to migrate automations from WinBatch scripting language to Python language better suited to security scanning, upgrades, and code remediation. I created a proof of concept project automating logging into a website to download a PDF copy of bills for accounts payable utilizing Python and Docker containers. I created a Microsoft Power App and several associated Power Automate Flows to allow customers through the enterprise to submit requests for document reviews to our team so that we can review and approve/deny their requests and automatically provide an email response. This process has saved our teams 10-15 hours per week on average manually searching for these requests and improved customer experience by notifying our team immediately upon the request. I also have experience building end-to-end solutions within Automation Anywhere from Discovery to implementation and support.
  • Humana
    Senior Automation Engineer
    Humana Aug 2005 - May 2021
    Louisville, Kentucky, Us
My responsibilities as a Senior Automation engineer included discovering new automation opportunities, gathering requirements, building, testing, deploying, and supporting automation processes.Built an automated process to take data entered from an application into an SQL Server, format it, andprovide the data to another dept to send checks. Once the checks are mailed, take their output andupdate the SQL server to track the status and progress of the requests. This process prevented latepayments that could have resulted in millions of dollars in interest/penalties paid and bridged a gapbetween two very separate departments.I was instrumental in designing the main automation processing engine the team uses to run andmonitor all automation within our team. This engine ensures that every record we process is accountedfor from submission to completion and allows for tracking every record at each step. We process, onaverage, 500,000 records per day across 1400 virtual machines through this engine. With this engine,if any team questions what/why/how we processed a record, we can audit and provide details oneverything we do. We also use this engine to report our savings to calculate ROI. This engine averages$54 million in savings annually
