Through constantly changing locations, clients and physical working conditions, this role offers new and exciting challenges on a daily basis. Although there are the many usual responsibilities including:• Regular site inspections to identify Safety and Environmental opportunities for improvement and following up on close-out of subsequent action items• Facilitation of regular toolbox meetings to maintain currency of safety information with all members of the team• Participation in daily pre-start meetings to both give and receive feedback on safety issues as well as stay up-to-date on the project works• Development and delivery of in-house Health & Safety training packages• Daily alcohol testing• Collection, documentation and interpretation of safety statistics to include in regular reporting and assist with ongoing focus areas• Working with leadership groups to overcome hazardous situations and minimise risks• Maintenance of core safety documentation library to ensure currency with regard to legislation and continual improvement;there are also the added challenges of:• Integration of client-specific requirements into the Safety Management of the site• Education of and monitoring of compliance with client-specific requirements throughout the workforce• Development and delivery of site specific induction programs• Participation in client safety programs• Maintaining continuity of safety standards across multiple sites with multiple clients with ranging safety culturesThis is a role that has increased my communications abilities, organisational skills and confidence in my ability to adapt. The constant exposure to different systems and cultures has added greatly to my knowledge-base and allows me to draw upon a variety of experiences to constantly improve my approach.
