• Architect behind MoveOn's successful campaigns to take over the House, Senate and White House, and launched new state-level political program.• Invented online and offline electoral organizing campaigns, recruiting MoveOn members to make more than 27 million calls and door-knocks, running Obama-style neighborhood organizing program with 500 staff in 2004, raising millions of dollars online, and recruiting 1 million volunteers for Obama.• Launched MoveOn's nationwide network of volunteer councils, managing dozens of staff and overseeing scalable leadership development of volunteers across hundreds of cities.• Product-managed large-scale technology development and data projects, managing software engineers to develop voter file targeting and modeling, member engagement and voting tools, and online voter contact technology later imitated by the Obama campaign.• Created and ran MoveOn Labs team, which produced user-generated Progressive Ballot Guide.• Ran the world's largest bake sale, raising $750,000 to "Bake Back the White House."

Developed campaign strategies and action plans for national field network of state PIRGs. Hired, trained, and supervised 17 field organizers in DC and around the country. Coordinated national campaign efforts of 250 staff covering 48 states. Extensive public speaking and writing. Accomplishments included:• Directed effort to gather 1 million signatures to protect wild forests, a key factor in Pres. Clinton’s roadless decision. • Oversaw hundreds of coalition partners, field media events and news stories on cleaning up power plant air pollution, contributing to new EPA clean air standards.• Organized 300-district DC lobby day fighting Arctic oil drilling. • Expanded activist network and Internet outreach (e.g. SaveTheArctic.com). • Broadened base, leading to new PIRG groups in Texas and Maine. • Increased campaign funds including developing new grant program.

Ran campaigns and training program for recent college graduates interested in environmental careers. Recruited staff, revised six weeks of trainings, and supervised organizers working on 25 campaigns over four years. Raised funds via grants, canvasses, and contracts with other environmental groups to run campaigns. Built campaign income stream to expand program and solidify organization’s financial footing. Trained more than 50 organizers who now run organizations like Greenpeace USA, Environment California, and Rock The Vote.

Helped direct media efforts for campaign finance ballot initiative in California. Developed and pitched daily media stories for six weeks before election, and organized media event with armored car that secured L.A. TV coverage the day before the election.

Worked on Wild Forever Grizzly Bear Project, a coalition with Greater Yellowstone Coalition, Audubon Society, Wilderness Society, and Earthjustice, on a campaign to protect grizzlies and defend endangered species protections. Garnered media coverage, and organized public hearings and 200-person “Rally for the Last Best Place” in Billings, MT. Researched effects of national forest roads and road restoration on bears. Analyzed federal agency actions and lobbied agency officials.
