Profile bio

About Shafeka Hashash

Skilled program strategist and implementer, community organizer, advocate, and user experience researcher.About me: I’ve been working to advance economic justice for over the last decade. Whether it be through supporting immigrants, to domestic violence survivors, and now most notably through the national direction and program management of a Guaranteed Income policy, I have been able to design and refine programs to help build an economy that works for all. I am fortunate to also be a community organizer also trained in information science fields. Staying in one lane is boring, and I aim to combine a diverse skill set in all of my work. My extensive background as both a technology researcher and political scientist and advocate have really integrated these passions. My dual background has meant that I have refined skills in social science and traditionally scientific areas which I can bring to any position. I hold a Masters degree in Political economy from NYU where I studied social movements and how the transfer of capital shapes politics in endless ways from foreign aid in developing nations, to the structure of economic markets, to policy making nationally and globally. I also graduated NYU with dual bachelors degrees in Politics and Middle Eastern and Islamic Studies. In either the corporate or public sector I would be an asset in compliance and regulatory affairs, consulting, project management, development, and research. My skills in these areas as well as my years of experience studying technological developments can transfer across many issues in contemporary society, involving economic or business dilemmas, healthcare, human rights, and many other social justice causes.

Listed skills include Public Speaking, Research, Economics, Leadership, and 29 others.
