i-Saksham was co-founded in 2015 in response to the poor situation of education, particularly in difficult areas of India. i-Saksham builds community Edu-leaders to enrich educational experiences of underserved children for their continued success.The edu-leaders are females from local community, who are selected based on their skill and interest in education and community leadership. They undergo a two year fellowship programme where they are trained in pedagogy, self-leadership and community leadership. They are placed in a government school near to their locality where they work with children and community.
