The Deputy Director position allows me to continue working with some of the best water and wastewater staff around, and add in more skilled people in Maintenance Management, Field Operations, and Laboratory Services. Division Manager of the Water Operations, Wastewater Operations, and Electrical Services Sections within the Utility Services Department at the City of Henderson. This allows me to work with a great group of dedicated professionals making sure the treatment and distribution of drinking water occurs first, then the collection, treatment, and reclamation of wastewater occurs next!

I manage the operations and maintenance of the City of Henderson's Wastewater Section, including: 32 mgd Water Reclamation Facility, 8 mgd MBR reclamation plant (under construction - startup 2010), 13 lift stations, and 5 pump station reclaimed water distribution system.Annual operating budget of $11.9 M.

• Plan, prioritize, assign, supervise and review the work of staff responsible for mechanical maintenance of wastewater treatment plant equipment at the City of Las Vegas Water Pollution Control Facility (WPCF). The WPCF includes three individual sites with a combined capacity of 101 million gallons per day.• Establish schedules and methods for providing maintenance services; coordinate services with plant operations needs, allocate personnel and resources accordingly.• Ensure state and federal wastewater quality standards and guidelines are met.• Review plans and specifications for plant improvements and expansion projects, read and interpret blueprints, communicate with contractors regarding project progress, help resolve construction concerns.• Supervise the collection of time, material and equipment data; produce and maintain detailed records and reports; propose large expenditures using an asset management philosophy.

• Act as Start-Up Team leader in the construction and initial start-up phases of the Durango Hills Water Resource Center (DHWRC). The DHWRC is a $36 million joint venture with between the City of Las Vegas and the Las Vegas Valley Water District. It provides and distributes 10 million gallons per day of recycled wastewater to local golf courses.• Liaison for the City to field engineers and contractors during construction phase of project to ensure accuracy and workability of the facility as a whole. Anticipate operational difficulties in the design or construction and initiate Action Items to correct. • Supervise both the operations and maintenance of the DHWRC during its first two years of operation.
