Bat Man Boat!!!!www.earthraceworldrecord.comSagunto, Spain, 27 June 2008: Earthrace, the world’s fastest eco-boat, has smashed the world speed record for a powerboat to circumnavigate the globe, completing the 24,000 km journey in just 60 days, 23 hours and 49 minutes.Earthrace is a 24m tri-hull wavepiercer built in New Zealand, and the record attempt, run by a team of international volunteers from New Zealand, Ireland, UK, Sweden, Guyana and Hungary, has been completed as a carbon neutral project. She set off from Spain on 27 April at 14:35hrs CET in an attempt to challenge the world record that has remained unbroken since 1998, when it was set by the British boat, Cable and Wireless Adventurer. The finish in Spain by Earthrace was monitored by D. They flew 2 days ahead of each stop and provided the essential logistical support to the boat throughout the World Record attempt, including: fuel delivery; customs clearance; refuelling; mechanical and engineering maintenance; supplies; media liaison; sponsorship servicing. As with carbon emissions caused by transporting the fuel to the fuel stops (and the biofuel itself), all CO2 emissions from travel by the ground crew were offset through the purchase of carbon credits.

In 2004, Digiweb responded to the to lack of high speed Internet access in Ireland and under took an €18Million network expansion along with 5 new regional offices. My duties included, over seeing the office and services rollout with engineers and Sales team, to launch the Next Generation Network once built. This Network was called Metro on the 10.5 Wireless Spectrum. I sold services including bespoke point to point links, and multi P2P links to a wide range of Business sectors nationwide. This was achieved by appointments and cold calling to areas specifically targeted where new coverage was available.Primarily services were just Wireless broadband (2.4 3.5 3.7 and 5.8mhz) but as the network capacity grew, larger connections were then possible with 1:1 contention. Sales cycles varied from 5 days to 6 weeks with average sales value ranging from €1,500 - €55,000 with all sorts of customised products available to sell. I achieved this by:• Forecasting and analysing data against budget figures on a monthly basis.• Planning and delivering services in accordance with the terms of the contract. • Maximising account revenue through accurate monthly forecasts and exploitation of contracts.• Establishing key channels for distribution of Digiweb’s wholesale products.I led a team to successfully tender for 10 CLAR wireless projects in the west of Ireland. This was a Government funded project to supply wireless broadband in remote areas of Connemara (http://anghaeltacht.net/cuaigso/050203la.html) and once these services were installed I sold connections to both business and home users at publicly launched events.I have spoken at many events and conferences around the country. I am a keen and active member of many Chambers of Commerce. I am an excellent problem solver and I have excellent written and verbal communication skills. I also tendered and won 9 Group broadband schemes in various locations around Ireland which would take advantage of the Government MANS.
