Provides content leadership for the development of English Language Arts professional learning based on EL Education's K-5 and 6-8 curriculum in addition to the Louisiana Guidebooks curriculum. Manages content development for Teaching Lab’s core model (teacher-led cycles of inquiry) and all supporting areas (Lab Leader development, school leader, coaching) through coordinating across teams, including client, executive, and project teams focused on English Language Arts.Additionally, develops & leads training for Teaching Lab facilitators, supports facilitation of professional learning sessions in districts and schools and occasionally leads facilitation. Support also extends to the training and coaching of local Lab Leaders (teacher-leaders of PL) and the Teaching Lab team to ensure alignment between content design and delivery.

Manages and supports the design of highly effective, curriculum-specific professional learning, with an initial focus on ELA/literacy. This work focuses in part on the cultivation and training of Teaching Lab’s facilitators of professional learning and our grassroots “Lab Leaders” (local teacher-leaders of professional learning), in addition to building out content cycles.

The Primary Grade Curriculum Manager works directly with the Director of Curriculum to support the district-wide initiative to implement and revise Center City’s chosen curricula in pre-K 3 through third grade. The Curriculum Manager is directly responsible for further developing our PK3-3rd grade curricula and ensuring fidelity of implementation across all six campuses. The Curriculum Manager will oversee and drive all phases of the curriculum project, from collecting quantitative and qualitative data regarding fidelity and effectiveness of implementation, to engaging classroom teachers in further developing and revising existing curriculum, and supporting classroom teachers in effectively teaching the Common Core State Standards through our curriculum. Elementary instruction in literacy, mathematics, science and social studies. Implemented the Core Knowledge Language Arts and EngageNY curricula while reaching the range of all learners in the classroom. Served as a Family Engagement lead responsible for implementing and supporting teachers in Academic Parent-Teacher Team meetings, individual conferences, and home visits across the primary grades. Participated in the Emerging Leaders Program sponsored by New Leaders and led teachers through data-driven instructional cycles across the 2015-2016 school year. Served as a Teacher-Leader Fellow for Center City responsible for leading professional development in a University Model and other district days.

Teaching Residency with Center City Charter Schools, through the Urban Teacher Center, which operates out of Baltimore, MD. Residents take 10 courses (4 in the fall; 4 in the spring; 2 in the summer). This coursework is fully integrated into a year-long clinical experience in a host school.Residents work with a small group of students (6-8) over the course of five months to demonstrate whether they can improve these students’ reading performance (demonstrated via formative assessments). At the end of this year, residents are assessed on their performance in three areas: improving the small group’s skills; successful coursework completion; and demonstration of practice during student teaching and the small group setting. With success in each of these areas, residents will be recommended to continue as teacher of record the following year.
