I have been instrumental in various Agile transformations across the Digital Retail organization at REI since 2010. I have had the opportunity to coach many individuals and teams to help them achieve their goals and be successful. I have also developed and facilitated Agile and Lean training to individuals and teams to help them grow their practices. Throughout my experience as a coach I have been actively playing the role of Scrum Master for multiple teams, as well as playing the role of Product Owner when necessary to support our teams. In my tenure at REI I have dedicated myself to advancing our Agile practices both within our division as well as across the organization, to help us build products our customers love and help our teams love the way we work. In 2010 I helped create the program that trained hundreds of REI employees across the company on Agile and Scrum practices. I created and maintained the Agile and Scrum training materials and managed the operations for training, including scheduling and gathering feedback on our training sessions. I personally conducted Agile/Scrum training sessions for every Scrum Master, Product Owner and all other Digital Retail team members, and many others across every department of REI. I remain today a leader of delivery practices and a champion for Agile and Scrum across the organization. Working for these teams they have continually optimized the checkout flow of REI.com, implemented Store Inventory Fulfillment, Buy online pickup in-store and PayPal payment flows, as well as implemented many other large and small enhancements to our checkout flow and accounts.

As one of the first people playing the role of Scrum Master at REI, I was instrumental in defining the role (and position) of Scrum Master at REI. As one of the first two people hired to the position of Scrum Master, I have dedicated myself to advancing our Agile practices across the organization. I was the Scrum Master for multiple teams in parallel including teams responsible for Search and Product on REI.com as well as Transaction and Delivery (Cart, Checkout and Order Fulfillment). Throughout my time as a Scrum Master I have been responsible for facilitating all Scrum Ceremonies on a daily basis as well as maintaining visibility of information and radiating information to interested parties across our organization. I work very closely with my teams Additionally I am responsible for removing any impediments my team has which keep them from performing at their highest level possible.
