Build end-to-end machine learning pipelines for the Transportation software product that guide government staff in the decision-making process on mobility and road safety improvements. Processed geospatial datasets using distributed computing and developed causal inference models to unveil the underlying contributing factors of road crashes.

Lead of transportation data modelling and research for transportation policy, design, safety and mobility projects. Developed car ownership models, behavioural mode choice and route decision models to predict travel demand patterns. Build predictive models to quantify the impacts of transit-only lanes on the road network. The model quantification of travel time savings was able to secure $4M in competitive transit funding for the District.

Lead computer vision projects for cities like City of Vancouver, Surrey, Calgary and Edmonton to automatically evaluate crash near-misses safety from traffic cameras. Developed Bayesian-based collision prediction and severity models to understand the road-users mechanisms that leads to road collisions.

Worked with multi-discipline researchers on the development a novel traffic information system that provides online traffic insights using computer vision from automatically tracking vehicles through traffic cameras. Teaching assistant for courses; Statistics, Traffic Engineering and Transportation planning. Lectured 200+ undergrad students and mentored many students in their capstone projects.

Design urban roads and highways; coordinating with different teams and stakeholders on the delivery of roadway designs. Built traffic simulation models to guide the projects design process.
