About Aidan Ellis
Hi! I'm Aidan and a 3rd year student at The Ohio State University. I am pursuing my degree in Public Management, Leadership, and Policy. On campus, I'm involved in Undergraduate Student Government, President of Ducks Unlimited, leadership in Cru Ministries, and a John Glenn Fellow. Currently, I am working at The Columbus Partnership as a Public Policy Intern. The Columbus Partnership, a membership-based non-profit that brings together Central Ohio’s most influential companies and institutions to drive major initiatives to enhance the region’s competitiveness, prosperity, and most importantly, quality of life. My responsibilities of assisting in legislative strategy, supporting team readiness by synthesizing key information for decision making, and memo-writing contribute to the Partnership’s overall goals. The Policy Team prides ourselves on our ability to work with all levels of government in a bi-partisan manner to create climates conducive to economic and community prosperity. My first experience with policy was with Chairman Reineke in the Ohio Statehouse. There, I learned the ins-and-outs of the state legislative process and was able to work with bills firsthand and provide constituent services. Senator Reineke chaired the Energy and Public Utilities committee, and this is where I found my passion for Energy policy. I then pivoted to Shumaker Advisors and used my Statehouse experiences as a Legislative Strategist and Governmental Relations Intern. There I was able to advocate for organizations, assist on capital budget requests, write grants, and learned how to lobby at the state level. Then, I had the incredible opportunity to work federally at the U.S. House of Representatives in the office of Representative Jim Jordan who serves Ohio's 4th District. There, I assisted in team readiness through information dissemination, being the primary point of contact for constituent services, and tracking energy legislation.
