One of Melbourne’s oldest and most iconic hotels, Young & Jackson prides itself on providing a traditional pub experience downstairs, and a more upmarket finer dining experience upstairs. In my time at Y&J’s I have been able to grow and develop in a more fast paced environment where no two days are the same. Main duties include pouring and serving of drinks, service of food and drink direct to tables, ongoing training in relation to new products that we have on hand, as well as the training and mentoring of new staff.

The LTSU is the peak advocate body for students at La Trobe University Bundoora, Melbourne, Mildura and Shepparton. The Ed/VP role at LTSU is focussed mainly on issues around academia and university administration, and also assisting to manage the day to day operations of a not-for-profit organisation. A major project that I have been involved in this year has been one of 2 La Trobe student representatives on the Student Voice Australia project - a pilot program focussedaround ensuring that university admin and student representatives work in partnership with each other, making sure that a true and authentic student voice is involved at all levels of university decision making.

As part of the proposed union merger between United Voice and the NUW, I was part of the team contacting union members to field their questions, concerns. In this time we also focused on calls to Crown employees regarding their EBA negotiations. Building on my other skills in direct voter contact and campaigning assisted and were strengthened during this time.
