I'm responsible for high level customer requirements analysis and conceptual design of the Human Machine Interface (HMI) for Typhoon Avionics. This includes definition display moding/symbology, cockpit control behavior, as well as physical layout and lighting of the cockpit itself. Typhoon Cockpit Group performs HMI design work in support of a number of Typhoon design standards, and multiple customer nations. ● Analyze customer requirements and define initial concept design solutions● Use of Hierarchical Task Analysis to support HMI requirements definition● Data analysis and technical report writing● Providing HMI design guidance in accordance with relevant Human Factors standards and best practice● Responsible for the design, test and qualification of the human machine interface control and symbology aspects of the cockpit systems● Defining Pilot interfaces with the systems in consultation with aircrew and Test Pilots from many countries and other engineering teams● Support HMI testing and qualification of avionic products in support of cockpit clearance● To maintain effective liaison with all Customers (internal and external to Cockpit Group) and all design driving areas.
