"Join the Navy see the world", I got carried away with this slogan & joined Merchant Navy, the invisible industry that puts clothes on our back, food on our plate & fuel in our car.I am a diligent and dedicated individual with a keen intellect. During my schooling I remained topper of my class & also engaged in various activities like Karate, Art Competition, Mathematics Contest & writing Book Reviews. Having grown up in a Navy family, I developed a strong appreciation for Initiative and leadership. This foundation, led to my role as the Academy Appointment Holder(Cadet Captain Maintenance) during my pre-sea training at Pakistan Marine Academy. In this capacity, I not only coordinated between cadets and Chief Maintenance but also initiated impactful measures, such as proposing the installation of Complaint/Suggestion boxes thus creating a direct link between Command and Cadets.A core trait of a leader is the judicious use of resources. During my tenure as Cadet Captain Maintenance, I noticed cadets often left lights and fans on in empty rooms. To address this, I implemented a simple yet effective solution: asking cadets to place reminder notes on their room's switch boards stating "Empty Rooms do not require Lights and Fan." This initiative saved approximately 138,240 units of electricity annually, equivalent to about PKR 2,861,568 in cost savings. With aspirations to advance from Engineering Cadet to Chief Engineer, I proactively utilized the Prime Minister Delivery Unit (PMDU) to make rosters for joining Pakistan National Shipping Corporation (PNSC) vessels available digitally for Engine Cadets & also took initiative for employment of Cadets as interns at PNSC while awaiting ship assignments. To date, 74 cadets have benefited from this internship program, receiving a total stipend worth PKR 5,550,000.As part of my professional path, I successfully completed my apprenticeship at PNSC & Sea Training at Port Qasim Authority which is vivid testimony of my personal attributes.I am an adaptive person & did training with gentlemen from all across Pakistan at Marine Academy. In my current role, while working for the largest LNG shipping company in the world- Nakilat, I have had the opportunity to accelerate my marine engineering skills as a sea going engineer. I have travelled to 9 different countries and sailed with multinational crew members while exhibiting a happy professional understanding with all of them. It was an honor for me to be one of 4 Engineering Cadets selected from Pakistan by Shell Ship Management Limited UK in 2023 for Nakilat.
