I lead and manage a team of four project managers and facilitate the Research Committee and Practice Based Research Network. We contribute to evidence based promising practices through content development and research initiatives. I am also responsible for leading training and technical assistance for multiple projects in our National Cooperative Agreement with the Health Resources and Services Administration. I build partnerships with University Researchers and other National Organizations.

 Valuable team member to a start-up pharmaceutical company studying a small molecule antiviral agent for the treatment of HIV-1 as well as other virus causing diseases. Coordinated experimental designs and performed critical assays to support the continued growth of the drug in the pharmaceutical pipeline. Prepared IND documents and presentations to explain the biological significance of the agent to the scientific and non-scientific community to secure funding.

 Studying breast cancer drug interactions, specifically looking at drug resistance to trastuzumab (Herceptin); trying to ascertain why some breast cancers are resistant to this therapy, utilizing stable isotope labeling of amino acids in cell culture (SILAC), a strategy used in quantitative phosphoproteomics research. Knowledge of mass spectrometry specific sample preparations (i.e. sample collection, enzymatic digestions, phospho-enrichment, iTRAQ labeling and protein/peptide separation) for this type of methodology, and study the analysis from results from the mass spectrometer using MASCOT and MaxQuant. Key member of the steering committee for diversity post doctoral association, serving as a network for minority students under-represented to share their work and provide an environment for those students asking questions about a cancer research career.
