Responsible for optimisation of the car's performance controls software to maximise race weekend performance. Also tasked with improving Performance Engineering toolsets and implementing analysis methodologies and procedures to the Performance Engineering department in a recently restructured team.

Responsible for the operational engineering of all of the RoboRace programmes, leading a team of engineers to build, prepare and run autonomous race race cars at variety of events, tests and challenges including the first fully autonomous on track overtaking manoeuvre (including development of the autonomous overtaking framework), first autonomous multi car race and setting the autonomous world land speed record.

I set up Alan Cocks Engineering Ltd.With Alan Cocks Engineering Ltd I aimed to provide the benefits of my experience in motorsport to a variety of motorsport teams, whether it be via work as a freelance race or performance engineer, or in developing the all important analysis procedures and tool-sets to enable each customer team to maximise its competitiveness.

Initially working as Performance Engineer, before being promoted to Race Engineer on the Number 7 car in May 2017 and acting Chief Engineer from March 2018Responsible for running the number 7 race cars in FIA Formula E and leading the Race and Performance Engineering groups.
