Emergency Subsea Pipeline Repair system for Qatar Petroleum and Pluto Platform module installation study for Woodside Energy

Supervising the design of Multidiscipline supports for the Hebron Oil Platform project.Based in Beijing, responsible for ensuring the consistency and quality of the output of Pipe, HVAC and Cable tray supports.One of the main functions was to review the input of pre-modelled supports against the Stress Isometric requirements prior to the model being released to the HVEC personnel for engineering design, to assist with any queries they may have had and to ensure that the final engineered and re-modelled support complied with the Stress Isometric, pipe span charts, and that the support conformed to correct structural practice, and was clash free.I provided guidance and mentoring to HVEC employees to ensure production targets were met, answer any queries they had and communicated with the piping and stress groups in the Home and Perth offices for clarification as required.I also travelled to the Home Office to provide input on how the quality and consistency of the output from there could be improved.

Rang Dong Oil Platform Topsides DesignI lead a team of piping and structural designers to complete the design and issue of pipework, and pipe, hvac, and cable tray supports. The work involved a large amount of GRE pipework which required many additional supports above the normal amount common for steel piping. The client insisted that this be reviewed by the GRE suppliers, and the result was that the supplier claimed we “had raised the bar’ for GRE pipework and the quality of the work performed should be regarded as best practice.

Woodside Maintenance ContractI was lead structural draftsman on the Karratha Domestic Gas Plant expansion project. This was a complex project involving tie-ins to existing facilities and access through them for pipe runs, pipe bridges over roadways and existing equipment etc. This also involved some very complicated pipe support structures due to the tight access.At the same time we also installed two new stabiliser columns and the refit and upgrade of several others. In addition there was various upgrade projects on GWA and NRA.
