Annually I was responsible for £5 million revenue budget and £6m CAPEX budget • Full estates management of the College estate covering 630k sqft• Led the management of the College estate to ensure it enhances the student experience, which is one of the key drivers and objectives of Glasgow Clyde College• Demonstrating strong leadership and management during the merger of the three estates functions from Langside, Anniesland and Cardonald into the new College estates structure. • Directly managed 5 staff and over 60 staff in the estates function. • Led, drafted, managing and implemented the College’s Estates Strategy advising on strategic management of the College’s buildings and key estates related investment decisions to ensure that the College’s estates strategic objectives are met. • Directly managed and led the major investment and capital works projects• Leading and managing the outsourcing cleaning provision to ensure the effective delivery of cleaning services across the College estate. • Led, managed and delivered a new catering provision realized 10% increase in sales. Tender covers 2 sites with £700k income annually• Led on delivery of environmental sustainability improvements to achieve the College carbon management planned targets. Successfully managed a 50% reduction in water consumption which translated into a £50k saving with gas consumption being reduced by £90k which is 42% saving over the same period.• Ensured the College has a full statutory maintenance plan in place to meet all legislation e.g. Legionella, LOLER, gas safety, 17th edition

• Led the rationalisation of the College estates following a review of the College estates which included the sale of an underutilised property for housing, realised savings of £1.5 million. I was the College representative in negotiations with our surveyor and abnormal consultant. • Development and implementation of an Estates Strategy for the College Strategic Management Team• Responsible for ensuring the College estate is statutory compliant (including Health and Safety) • Lead and undertake a full estate department reviewed which realised savings of £150k a year• Management of the in – house estates team of 15 staff and 10 contractors with a conract value of £750k/year to ensure the buildings are in an appropriate condition for the delivery of the curriculum. This covers not only M&E maintenance, but also, grounds maintenance, cleaning, catering and security. • Led the completion of the defects resolution period covering latent defects and the (DLP) defects liability period following construction of the new College estate, resolving a number of significant contractual issues to ensure deliver and completion of defects• Responsible for effective management of the College estates budget, £2.5m revenue and £2m CAPEX, working closely with the director of finance to forecast and manage the budget• Responsible for managing the College energy management and strategy leading to a 35% reduction in energy consumption leading to a £50k cost reduction• Lead an annual estates utilisation process to space plan the estate for max space efficiency
