• Physical and mathematical Scientist: I love taking a question and following where it leads, especially if it’s over the customs border into an international environment, or over the custom border into an interdisciplinary one.• Experienced Manager and Planner: my aim could be called Taoist, so that “The people all say, ‘It happened to us naturally.’” It can take a lot of thought, work and organization ahead of time to make that happen.• Clear and effective Communicator: I’ve presented in many formats on technical/scientific topics, from the impromptu conversation over a small telescope to formal series of university lectures to a full-length book.
