Farm Service Agency Program Technician
CurrentProvide support to Agricultural Program Specialists and perform a wide variety of clerical and technical duties related to agricultural programs (i.e., price support, conservation, production adjustment, and compliance) conducted by the State or County office. Respond to questions regarding program requirements and procedures, review national issuances and draft notices, analyze a variety of program reports, allocate and monitor program funds, and assist in resolving automated application problems. Insure all clerical operations are completed and in compliance with FSA procedures. Provide support to the Farm Loan Program team and perform a wide range of duties related to loan processing, loan servicing, and office management in the State or County FSA office. This includes advising borrowers on various loan eligibility requirements and provisions such as, supervised bank accounts, required insurance coverage, repayment and security agreements, development plan requirements, qualifications for debt settlement, etc.; and insuring all clerical operations are completed and in compliance with FSA procedures. Maintain an understanding of farming practices and customs in the United States, and of the economic needs of farm communities at the State level; gain knowledge of current State and Federal agricultural trends; and interpret regulations, programs, and policies affecting them.
