Global Crossing. - Wilton Manors, FL (before May 15, 2007 was IMPSAT USA) May 2001 – August 2011Network Engineer Overview: Network Engineer with responsibilities for maintaining the highest level of service to large International Corporations using Global Crossing’s network through out the Caribbean and Latin America. •Main Point of Contact for inbound customers maintenance requests (mainly British Telecom), responsible for every customer issue or trouble ticket opened with our NOC. •Provide 2nd and 3rd level technical support for customer maintenance requests.•Ensure that British Telecom’s trouble reports are resolved to the their satisfaction.•Maintain statistics in order to minimize mean time to repair (MTTR) on all issues.•Access various Network Devices/systems for trouble isolation and/or circuit testing.•Ensure that hand-offs to other Work Centers for resolution are minimal and seamless to the customer.•Work with Customers, Vendors and/or Carriers to resolve Network and/or equipment related issues.•Knowledge of Cisco Routers and Switches, Lucent Nortel Passport ATM and Frame Relay Switches, Satellite Communications (VSAT, SCPC, etc), Alcatel Newbridge Switches and ACT Skyframe FRADs.•Responsible for maintaining Service Level Agreements for Premier customers using Global Crossing’s infrastructure in Latin America.•Prepare on a monthly basis Performance Reports based on Global Crossing’s Trouble ticketing System for our largest Carrier customer. •Provide training to NOC technicians in the use of the Siebel trouble Ticket System and on Clarify.•Remote/smart hands and network element configuration to assist with customer network troubleshooting.. Equipment included SUN Workstations, Compaq and DELL farm servers, Cisco Catalyst switches and Foundry switches.•Periodically meet with high level executives to update them on Impsat NOC procedures.•Involved in Change Management strategy, planning and implementation for all network changes.
