Precision Components has three main processes: Metal forming, Plastic injection and Cameras Packing center. As an operations manager I had the responsibility of the Production and Quality departments. Responsibility to achieve the production goals within the specification required. Also need to maintain and improve the UMC (Unit Manufacturing Cost) of the products, focusing in labor administration, materials manage, waste reduction, quality assurance and process improvement through the lean manufacturing methodology KOS (Kodak Operation System similar to TPS). Production supervisors, process engineers and quality engineers under my supervision help me to achieve the department goals. I receive service-support from the Engineering, Maintenance, Material & production planning, Supply chain, Finance, Purchasing, Logistics departments.Other responsibility is to lead key projects for the operation.

Due to the company needs to reduce cost and the restructure that Kodak is facing I was promoted as a Special Projects Coordinator. In this position I was in charge of finding opportunities to reduce the cost of the operation and assure the quality of the product mainly focused on product misidentifies and mixture of product. Improve 135 process through KOS methodology (Lean Manufacturing) including tools like Kaizen, TPM, Gemba, Pokayoke, Jidoka, JIT, SMED, 5S and others.Supervisor of 19 maintenance mechanics and electricians. Day to day corrective and preventive maintenance on spoolers, metal form, packaging lines, parts feeder systems, conveyors, ink printers, laser printers, glue systems, bundlers, shrink ovens, injection molding machines and others. Define maintenance objectives and personal development plan for all of them. Evaluation of the personnel objectives and achievements. Coaching, conflict management, vacation and training plan and administration.Preventive and Predictive maintenance implementation, work instructions and procedures documentation, schedules and resources assignation. Spare part control and utilization improvement (inventory reduction by 50%).Increase OEE ( Overall Equipment Effectiveness) in 35mm Spoolers to 75% project leader using the Six Sigma Black Belt Practitioner methodology. Spooling area is the core business.

Responsible to achieve the daily production goal for 110 Color flow process. Leader of 110 Consolidation project that the goal was to move the 110 roll demand from Kodak Colorado to Kodak de México (demand increase twice). Administrator of the capital budget of this project as well as plan resources, expenses forecast and team members revision follow up meetings (Colorado and Mexico). Layout improvement to include new machines (Injection molding, Spoolers, Assembler, Packaging lines). This project was finished on time and 10% below budget (savings) due to the increased of capacity obtained through the improvement methodology applied. Responsible to assure the quality of the 110 product through the SPC. Pokayokes implemented to prevent human mistakes. 110 Production Goal monitoring system implemented to help the supervisors and operator to know the status of the production rate by hour. Improve the 110 production process, materials flow and kanban system. Implemented the visual factory concept (5s). Reduce the product change over through the SMED methodology. I was promoted to Manufacturing Engineer.
