After defending my Practicum Report, I was the first to graduate from Rutgers University’s nascent dual Bachelor’s/Master’s program in Feminist Practices for Social Change in the department of Women's, Gender, and Sexualities Studies (WGSS).As an undergrad, I maintained a 4.0 GPA in-major and completed an honor's thesis that was awarded first place by the NJ WGS Consortium, a state-wide women's and gender studies conference for undergraduates. I also received and graduated with high honors that recognized my research and achievements. Lastly, I was consulted for and included in a piece published by Good Morning America that addressed inequities in access to healthcare for LGBTQ+ populations. As a graduate student, I had the opportunity to serve as the Advocacy Intern for Keshet, an LGBTQ+ Jewish organization, and work as a grader for an undergraduate Comparative Literature course. My role at Keshet was to track pro- and anti-LGBTQ+ bills, advocate for the passing of the Equality Act, and participate in departmental collaboration for state-wide and national campaigns. As a grader, I offered revisions and constructive feedback to students and tracked their improvements throughout the semester. I was able to use and hone my proofreading, editing, and revising skills to best help students excel in essay writing. After gaining field and work experience, I intend to return to school to complete my Doctorate with the goal of conducting research and teaching.
