Growing up in the city of Detroit, I was exposed to the world of sport at an early age through some of the best professional and college teams in the country. This led to an interest in the business of sport. At U of M, I had have the opportunity to explore my interest in sport through two invaluable internships: University of Michigan's Athletic Department and Palace Sports and Entertainment. Through Michigan's Athletic Department, I learned what it takes to create a marketing strategy and implement it to produce a positive gameday atmosphere for fans. In my current position with Palace Sports and Entertainment, I am responsible for selling tickets to Detroit Pistons games through personal phone calls and social media. I am also a member of three student organizations at U of M: Sports Business Association (SBA) Here Earning a Destiny Through Honesty, Eagerness, and Determination of Self (HEADS) and the University of Michigan Black Alumni student advisory board . I serve on the executive board for HEADS and with that, I was on the planning committee for the annual Black Homecoming, the largest social gathering on the campus of the University of Michigan. As a part of the funding committee, I helped raise $5,000 to make sure that Black Homecoming stayed a free event for the community. I look forward to learning more and growing within the sport industry as I continue my career.
