Role is focused on geophysical processing and interpretation of data acquired from offshore survey vessels that utilise seismic hydrophones, side scan sonar, magnetometers, gradiometers, and sub bottom profilers to map the seabed and provide condition-based monitoring of subsea structures.Duties include:• Work independently to ensure that data processing and interpretations meet project specifications from acquisition to final product delivery• Lead, support, and guide geologists during the acquisition phase to ensure procedures for offshore survey tools are followed during operations• Use commercial geophysical software including Chesapeake Sonarwiz, IHS Kingdom, RadExPro, and Geosoft Oasis Montaj to interpret marine survey data collected offshore from towed instruments to those housed within industry first ROV / AUV robotic systems• Regularly check that interpretations make geological sense e.g. single bottom profiler (single channel and ultra high resolution seismic) measure accurately against readings acquired by magnetometers, gradiometers, and video/geotechnical sampling• Provide feedback to the project management team, and critically assess that the project and client requirements align with proposed survey strategy and equipment used during shallow or deepwater operations• Ensure processing logs are properly utilised, following up on any deviations in the survey data and assisting the Process Owner in any processing routines for continuous review to boost efficiency and maximise data quality• Make key decisions regarding processing that deviates from project specifications, in consensus with the Offline Coordinator, the Project Geologist, and Project Report Coordinator.
