He earned an MS in geology from the University of Montana and a BS in geology from the University of Wisconsin. He has supervised geologic field programs in Alaska including collecting, describing, evaluating, and interpreting samples. He has managed projects for soil and groundwater remediation, installed vapor probes near landfills and oil and gas fields, completed compaction testing of landfill cover soils, and managed and reported maintenance and monitoring of air and groundwater quality via vapor extraction (VES) and automatic recover (ARS) systems under SCAQMD and RWQCB guidance. He has performed, managed, and reported environmental site contamination, hydrogeologic assessments, and soil remediation. Alex is experienced in a wide range of soil geology activities, is certified in the OSHA 40-hour Hazardous Material Awareness Training, and has completed the 8-hour Health and Safety Supervisory Training.
