Throughout my time as a graduate student, I have had the privilege to work with patients across all age populations performing a multitude of diagnostic and intervention techniques. I have acquired strong interpersonal skills through a service industry position that I utilize to assess the patient’s needs, while maintaining a calm, empathic, and professional environment. As a graduate student, I have been able to be extensively involved in our program. I have had the opportunity to work with the director of our clinic as a graduate assistant working on current research and adapting advertisements of the clinic and aiding in the revision of research articles. I have also held a leadership position through our Student Academy of Audiology (SAA) chapter as secretary. While in this position, I have managed our social media accounts and facilitated public educational outreach, which is a passion of mine. Through these experiences, I have developed a deeper understanding of the laymen’s view of our profession and how we can strengthen public knowledge about hearing and vestibular disorders.
