System Engineer - A-Spec System Design
In my most recent role, I returned to my A-Spec System Design Team and continued system architecture and modeling development as well as several of my Digital Transformation efforts.
Systems Engineer - Digital Transformation
During the struggles of the pandemic, I realized that many of our teams would benefit from more automated and streamlined processes, and so, I hopped on the Digital Transformation Team to aid in their efforts as both an Engineer and Scrum Master. I lead this team by organizing tasks, setting goals, and improving team performance, while also developing a script myself. This script generated a document from Rational Rhapsody, output all data needed for review in the proper format, and overall cut down the time of producing an Engineering Technical Review (ETR) by 30 hours per review period.Additionally, I worked to transfer our requirement writing and review process to a software that is compatible with Rhapsody. This product, Jazz, was a huge step in our digital transformation efforts as requirements can now be easily tracked back to the exact call operation the requirement satisfies. Finally, I created a foundation for future scenario and platform environments to support Artificial Intellegence/Machine Learning (AI/ML) development efforts.
Product Owner - A-Spec System Design
After learning best practices by shadowing the master architect on my team with 30+ years’ experience, I was able to dive in as the team's scrum master and product owner. Throughout this rotation, I replicated A-Spec system design in use case diagrams, requirement diagrams, and activity diagrams by interpreting the proposal documentation, working directly with technical leads, and presenting at weekly demonstrations to best represent the system architecture. As the product owner of these programs, I was also responsible for setting a project timeline, balancing staffing on each program, and coordinating and negotiating design updates with dependent programs.
Integration And Test Engineer
As a member of the Multi-Element Integration & Test (MEIT) team, I conducted regression testing, isolated issues, submitted problem reports, reproduced reported issues, and fixed potential system malfunctions during test shots.
Associate Hardware Engineer - Engineering Leadership Development Program
During this rotation, I developed a seismic mount for an earthquake-prone, safety-critical facility and verified safety by utilizing Modal Analysis and Response Spectrum functions in ANSYS. Additionally, I designed and manufactured a testing fixture in Creo to increase efficiency and reduce cost of testing.
Engineering Intern
Before graduating, I worked in Operations Analysis as a Systems Engineering Intern at Lockheed Martin. I worked with a principal engineer to translate top-level needs into a value model for a prototype planning system. This system utilized deterministic and stochastic models in Excel using VBA to help determine which aspects of a project were cost-beneficial to the overall value of the final product. I also spent time on another project at Lockheed, and successfully implemented algorithms for wide-area surveillance accuracy prediction in MATLAB. Finally, I created a rocket-launching ground vehicle and succeeded in intercepting an airborne target with a team of interdisciplinary engineering interns. My responsibilities included: modeling and 3D printing safety-critical components in SOLIDWORKS, and vehicle assembly.
Ecocar 3 Participant
EcoCAR 3 is an Advanced Vehicle Technology Competition which challenges students to redesign a Camaro into a hybrid-electric vehicle. I served as the team lead of my senior design team which was tasked with: improving the functionality and performance of the controls system of the vehicle by creating a post-test data analysis script in MATLAB, theorizing a way to preheat the catalytic converter in 5-7 minutes to 350 degrees Celsius, and designing a bracket to reduce vibrations from the A/C compressor.
Engineering Intern
Before graduating, I had the opportunity to join the Lockheed Martin team at Sikorsky Aircraft as an Engineering Intern. I was thrilled to be working on the VH-92A Helicopter with the Avionics department. My responsibilities included: transferring data from aircraft schematics to verify End-End wiring accuracy in the Systems Integration Lab, communicating deadlines with my team, and participating in an internship design competition.
Disney College Program Participant
In the fall of 2015, I was lucky enough to join Walt Disney World's ranks as an Attraction Hostess at Space Mountain. Here, I was truly the happiest girl on earth as I ensured the safety of Guests while providing a magical experience. During my program, I participated in Disney's Engineering Professional-Development Study where I learned how Disney Engineers operate on a daily basis while hearing fascinating stories about their time with the company. I was later selected for Disney's Ultimate EnginEARing Exploration (DUEE) and won the "Best Team Presentation" award.
