I began my time with UP Holdings as a graduate student Project Intern in September 2019 before being hired on as a Project Analyst after I graduated in June 2020. In March 2022 I became the Senior Project Analyst for the company. Most recently, in January 2023 I officially became a Project Manager.Over my years, I have secured $150+ million by applying to 20+ financial applications in a variety of states (CA, IL, MI) to build or rehab over 500 affordable housing units consisting mostly of mixed-use permanent supportive housing (PSH) developments that served families, farmworkers, and veteran populations. As the Community Investment Intern, I reviewed competitive Affordable Housing Program (AHP) rental and homeownership applications who were vying for up to $900,000 in gap financing. Reviews consisted of a full financial feasibility analysis on a variety of project types; including supportive living facilities, privately financed affordable housing, RAD (Rental Assistance Demonstration) conversions of public housing, and 9% and 4% LIHTC (Low-Income Housing Tax Credit) deals.

As a contractor for the Gary Redevelopment Commission, I work in a challenging, fast-paced, team-oriented environment creating innovative solutions to blight and lost economic stability. I assisted the Zoning Administrator with daily zoning operations including ordinance preparation for the Board of Zoning Appeals and Planning Commission as well as guiding petitioners through various processes and zoning inquiries. For the City of Gary's first city liaison for the Gary Historic Preservation Commission, I created agendas, recorded minutes, filed ordinances, and attended monthly public meetings.

Began as an AmeriCorps VISTA for the City of Gary for a year where I focused mainly on historic preservation initiatives. While there, we were awarded and administered two separate grants. The first was $16k from the Indiana Housing and Community Development (IHCDA) Placemaking Indiana program that funded the Gary Preservation Tour which attracted 500 people and helped activate downtown. The second was $160k from Knight Cities Challenge to help preserve a historically significant abandoned church called City Methodist.
