I am a experienced Paramedic registered with the Health & Care Professions Council (HCPC) in the UK. I have a gained experience across a range of settings from minor illness and injury to major trauma and life threatening medical conditions. I have a strong interest in providing holistic patient centered care whether its admission avoidance pathways with community care for those suitable or my provision of care to those critically ill or injured. My passion is improving the care provided to critically ill patients, whether trauma or medical. I have a keen interest within cardiology, especially arrhythmia recognition and management both within the pre-hospital and onward secondary care in the hospital, which has made up a substantial aspect of my MSc. Through this keen interest in cardiology I have also developed my electrophysiology knowledge as well as the management across a range of cardiac conditions such as MI, heart failure and heart murmurs.I am passionate about providing evidence based medicine to provide the best care possible to patients. This has invovled incorporating NICE guidelines and current evidence base into my practice supported through my continued professional development and MSc Advanced Practice. My clinical care has further been developed through expanding my scope of practice through completing wound closure skills.In addition to developing the clinical care provided I also have a strong interest within developing paramedic practice. I have completed my mentoring qualification and have experience at the role of Paramedic Mentor where I have mentored both Student Paramedics and qualified clinical staff to develop and improve their clinical practice.

This involves scoping with departments regards possible pathways.• Undertake clinical audits with the aim of identify areas of improvement within current clinical practice.• Liaise and work with allocated domiciliary care providers to reduce the demand on ambulance service for non-injury falls.

I worked as a paramedic on a Double Staffed Ambulance within a small town in North Hertfordshire but also undertook regular shifts both on a Rapid Response Vehicle (RRV) and DSAs at larger towns. The role primarily involved the assessment, treatment and management of patients suffering from acute or urgent care. Where appropriate this included referring to alternative care pathways or utilising advanced skills such as wound closure to avoid hospital admission.I was also a Practice Placement Educator (PPEd) for a student paramedic undertaking a university based degree. This involved mentoring them through their placements, undertaking practice assessments for the student and signing off competencies. Through my Paramedic Mentor role I was also responsible for the mentoring of other qualified staff.In addition to my clinical and mentoring role I was also a local IPC champion with responsibilities for assisting in auditing the vehicles, stations and hand hygiene to ensure IPC compliance.
