I am excited to continue working with and advocating for the at-risk youth population in the State of Idaho in more of a preventative manner. As a District Liaison, I have the opportunity to collaborate with administrators, judges, elected officials, school districts, law enforcement and many other stakeholders in the community to brainstorm and bring to life programs that will help deter youth from entering into the juvenile justice system.

As Chief Financial Officer I am responsible for planning, implementing, managing and controlling all financial-related activities of the company. This includes direct responsibility for accounting, finance, forecasting, and strategic planning. I identify, acquire and implement systems and software to provide critical financial and operational information. I remain current on audit best practices as well as state, federal and local laws regarding company operations and I prepare and submit monthly, quarterly and annual tax documents.Additionally, because Heliodon Lighting donates a percentage of each project to a non-profit agency of the customer’s choice, I ensure that each non-profit agency receives the appropriate funds at the completion of each lighting project.

The Scales of Justice is a nonprofit organization started in 2004. It focuses on pairing troubled youth on probation and bass fishing. The fishing event is an exciting, positive and pro-social activity for kids who struggle to keep their lives on the straight and narrow. Most juveniles on probation are not bad kids; they are merely troubled, often by some type of trauma from their life’s history. The success of this life-changing program is dependent on Bass Boaters, community volunteers, ACJCS employees and sponsorships. Part of my position includes soliciting donations, cultivating new donor relationships and strengthening current donor relations, developing new channels for raising money, and growing donor annual revenue year after year.

I interview juveniles and their families prior to sentencing and compile the information collected into a complete, accurate, and objective pre-sentence report consisting of appropriate recommendations for sentencing. Upon the completion of Sentencing, I supervise juveniles on probation, which entails random visits to their home and school. Supervision includes ensuring all terms are being met and holding juvenile and/or parent(s) accountable if terms are not being met. Furthermore, I collaborate with third parties who interact regularly with the juvenile and family to verify reported information as well as I collaborate with local law enforcement. I detect illegal substance use and/or possession of paraphernalia through drug and alcohol testing and searches.  Additionally, I am a Field Training Officer, Team Designee, and intern supervisor.
